How stacked discounts work

Successive discounts multiply; they do not add. A 20% discount followed by 10% off means you pay 80% × 90% = 72% of the original price before the coupon.

Final price = max(0, original × (1 − first discount) × (1 − extra discount) − coupon)

Example

A $100 item with 20% off becomes $80. Another 10% off makes it $72, and a $5 coupon produces a final price of $67.

Frequently asked questions

Do two 10% discounts equal 20% off?

No. You pay 90% twice, or 81% of the original price, for a total discount of 19%.

Can the final price be negative?

No. The calculator stops at zero and reports any unused coupon amount.

Does this include tax or shipping?

No. It only applies the discounts and coupon entered above.
