Calculate mean, median, sum, minimum, and maximum from a comma- or space-separated list of numbers.
Mean and median
The arithmetic mean is the sum divided by the number of values. The median is the middle value after sorting; for an even count, it is the mean of the two middle values.
Mean = sum of values ÷ number of values Range = maximum − minimum
When median is useful
A very large or small outlier can pull the mean away from most observations. The median is less sensitive to those extremes, so comparing both gives a clearer picture.
