How worked time is calculated
Elapsed time runs from the start to the end, adding 24 hours when the shift ends the next day. The unpaid break is then subtracted.
Worked minutes = elapsed minutes − unpaid break minutes
Decimal hours
Thirty minutes equals 0.5 hours, while 30 minutes is not 0.30 hours. Decimal hours help with time records but do not calculate wages or overtime rules.
